Find work and send a complete application

Official job routes, a practical application checklist and ways to keep track of your next step in Langeberg and Breede Valley.

Read the full advert first

Before paying for travel or printing, check the actual workplace, minimum qualifications, experience, reference number and closing time. A vacancy shared in your town may be based elsewhere. Decide whether the location and requirements fit your circumstances.

Use the employer’s own advertisement to decide what to submit. Keep a copy: advertisements can disappear after closing. Creating a recruitment account or saving a vacancy does not mean you have submitted an application.

Langeberg municipal jobs

Open the municipality’s vacancy page and download the current advertisement and employment application form. Use the submission address or route stated in that specific advertisement. Check the reference for your chosen post, especially when one advertisement contains several vacancies.

Breede Valley municipal jobs

Use Breede Valley Municipality’s recruitment portal. Register or sign in, open the relevant vacancy and complete the application fields and attachments requested there. For recruitment questions, the portal lists 023 348 4961 and jobs@bvm.gov.za. This is an enquiry contact; submit applications through the route in the vacancy.

Provincial and national opportunities

For Western Cape Government jobs, use its application guide to find the correct departmental recruitment system. For national public-service jobs, open the DPSA vacancy circular and follow the department’s instructions for the post. Use a Z83 where the advertisement requires it; do not assume that every employer uses the same form or document rules.

Prepare, submit and keep proof

  1. Write down the post title, reference, deadline and submission route. List every document the advert asks for.
  2. Update your CV with a working phone number and email address. Check your references’ contact details with them.
  3. Open every attachment to check readability and missing pages. Use clear file names such as Surname_CV.pdf, and check the portal’s accepted file sizes and formats.
  4. Submit early enough to recover from a failed upload or lost connection. Review the application before its final submission step.
  5. Keep the confirmation email, application number or submission receipt. Record what you applied for and when; use the employer’s stated follow-up process.

Keep one record for each application

Copy these headings into your own notes or a notebook. Start with the full advert and fill in only what it confirms. If a closing time or required document is unclear, ask through the employer's published enquiry route before submitting.

Keep this record on your own device or paper. Do not put passwords, identity numbers or copies of identity documents into public comments or the Hub's correction form.

Track progress and check the workplace

Use three stages: Preparing, Submitted — proof kept, and Outcome received. Do not mark an application submitted merely because you registered, uploaded a CV to your profile or saved a draft. If the final screen is unclear, check the portal's application history or use its published support route before sending another application.

A vacancy listed for your town may have a workplace elsewhere. Before spending money, note the travel requirement, any shift or weekend work stated in the advert, and whether you meet the minimum requirements. The employer's full advert controls the application.
