WCED warned on 3 September about WhatsApp messages impersonating school principals or district officials and demanding payment for teaching appointments. Do not pay an application or appointment fee. Verify permanent vacancies through WCED’s official recruitment system and temporary posts directly with the school using independently verified contact details. Report suspected fraud to WCED and SAPS.
